Over there, over there

It's easy to get caught up in the great Karmic rebound that is Rovegate. But Cornhuskerblogger can't forget that men and women are dying in Iraq while Rove's minions fog the collective mind of the nation. That's sort of what happened in the run-up to the war, right? If Clinton was guilty of too much sexing up the *ladies,* this administration's crime of sexing up intelligence and outing a covert CIA officer somehow seem worse. Much worse. Think: TREASON -- which, mercifully, is out of print.

So let's pan eastward towards Babylon. In testimony he is scheduled to give Monday to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Anthony Cordesman of the Center for Strategic and International Studies says US military might won't solve Iraq's problems -- only the U.S.'s political will and...wait for it...respect for minority rights. Yikes.

``This is a political struggle,'' according to a transcript of the
testimony Cordesman will deliver. ``No purely military options can
substitute for success in creating an effective political structure that is
both inclusive and protects the rights of minorities...''

Ken Mehlman's hypocrital pandering aside, these guys really do have quite a track record with minorities, don't they? You might call it shameless or likefatherlikeson.
